Finn Skårderud in conversation with the artist Kjell Erik Killi-Olsen

En annerledes S (A different kind of S); Kjell Erik Killi-Olsen.

This event is organised by  BGE Contemporary Art Projects  in partnership with Schizofrenidagene.

Kjell Erik Killi-Olsen (1952) was born in Trondheim and studied at the Akademia Sztuk Pieknych in Krakow, Polen and at the National Academy of Fine Art,  Oslo.

Killi-Olsen broke through as a national an international artist in the 1980s, with his characteristic paintings and sculptures. He has played a central role in the contemporary Norwegian art scene, and in Norwegian art history.

Killi-Olsen exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1986, but is best known for his iconic work "Salamander night", exhibited at the Sao Paolo Biennale in Brazil in 1989. The artist donated this work to Trondheim City Council in 2007. 

Finn Skårderud (dob 1956) is a psychiatrist, writer, professor, and founder/Director of Villa Sult, the Institute for Eating Disorders. Skårderud is active in promoting multidisciplinary approaches to mental health, where experiences are viewed from a combination of humanistic, cultural, aesthetic and medical perspectives. He is a regular contributor to the cultural pages of the Norwegian daily, Aftenposten.
