The evidence suggests that more effective therapists are characterized by a set of relationship skills that are used in challenging contexts.  To improve, therapists need to improve their skill set.  Unfortunately, it is difficult to acquire skills as a practicing clinician.  However, through deliberate practice of interpersonal skills therapists can improve their outcomes. The basics of deliberate practice in psychotherapy will be discussed.
