The goal of this presentation is to suggest that the effectiveness of psychotherapy could be increased based psychotherapy integration, and specifically on assimilative integration. Assimilative integration is an effort to improve a particular orientation by integrating constructs and techniques that have been developed by other schools of therapy. Specifically, this presentation will illustrate how cognitive behavioral therapy might lead to better outcome, at least for some clients,  by an integration of interventions that have been traditionally associated with psychodynamic, interpersonal, and humanistic orientations.
